On October 2nd, the city of Ivry-sur-Seine (France) launched the Rosalind Franklin School and the hall of residence.
Located at the crossing of Emile Blin street and Jean Jaurès avenue, the project is one of the first equipment that has been delivered in a district in full change.
The school is carrying its own landscape, the successive patios welcome plants and pasture. Playgrounds, south-facing, are bathed in light and they can make the most of this new panorama that are green patios.
The refraction, caused thanks to the glazed facades, offer to discover the building always with a new outlook.
Two spaces have been considered to further a teaching about biodiversity : a pedagogic garden ,accessible from the common spaces on the first floor, and a reading space which offers views on patios thanks to the large windows.
The hall of residence have been considered on rational and efficient way. The distance existing between the school and the housing, confers autonomy and detachment.
The building benefits from a considerable sunshine and a view on the Seine.
Facades are adorned with perforated metal pannels which are both sun-screens and filters.
Their ripples allude to curtain and give a familiar touch to the property.
